Over 50's Life Insurance

Guaranteed life cover with no medical required to provide a tax-free cash lump sum for your loved ones

Guaranteed acceptance life insurance with added extras, including funeral benefits and bereavement support for your family.

Our Over 50s Life Insurance provides your loved ones with a fixed, tax-free cash lump sum when you die.

Available to anyone aged between 50 and 80, our plan is designed to help with the costs of your funeral and any other expenses incurred.

The cash lump sum can be paid directly to your estate or, if you choose our additional funeral benefits option, will be paid to Golden Charter Funeral Services who will add an extra £300 to the value of the fund and will be able to handle the funeral arrangements.

Main Features

Guaranteed life cover from as little as £10 a month

If you’re a UK or Isle of Man resident aged between 50 and 80, you are guaranteed acceptance with no medical to answer and can become insured from just £10 a month up to a maximum of £50 a month.

A guaranteed cash lump sum that we will never reduce

You decide the size of the lump sum you’d like your family to receive and we guarantee this will never be reduced, as long as agreed monthly premiums have continued to be paid.

Premiums fixed for life yet flexibility to reduce if required

The monthly premiums you agree at the start of your plan will never be increased. However, you can choose to reduce your monthly premiums at any time, as long as this remains above the minimum of £10 per month.

Extra funeral benefit option plus access to the National Bereavement Service

When you apply you can choose the option to nominate Golden Charter Funeral Services,
the UK’s largest independent funeral service provider, to handle your funeral and they will offer an extra £300 towards the cost.

Your loved ones will also have access to the National Bereavement Service, a not for profit organisation that can offer counselling, guidance and support to the recently bereaved.

This plan has the following risks:

  • If your circumstances change and you stop paying the premiums, your life cover will end immediately.

  • Over 50s Life Insurance has no cash in value at any time, so if you cancel it after the first 30 days you will get nothing back.

  • Your life cover does not start until after the second anniversary of your plan start date, as shown in your plan illustration, unless you die as a result of an accident, in which case your life cover begins from the start date shown on your plan illustration.

  • Over time, although the amount we pay out on death is fixed, this amount is likely to reduce in value because of the effects of inflation.

  • If you live long enough the total premiums you have paid may be greater than the amount payable on death.

  • This life plan is not a funeral plan and therefore may not cover the full cost of a funeral.
